Some things need to die to make them better. Top Gear has a format that sucks horribly and was dependent on the chemistry of the May/Hammond/Clarkson to carry it.

I never theorized that this episode was any sort of reaction, as I do understand they’ve long been recorded. Just that I’ve finally re-calibrated the show and dropped any pre-conceived notion that they would try something radically new.

That Car Battleship segment absolutely REEKED of mid-2000s TG. And I absolutely loved every minute of it.

Just last night I noticed that there hasn’t been a single Captain Slow reference. I noticed it because James May was actually pretty fast, and had the fastest car in a straight line.

With the exception of Episode 2, I have loved every episode of the show. I have even kind of liked Mike Skinner. I feel that it is a little reach back t the original TG and how they were always making fun of Americans.

Get over yourself. Just watch the damn show and stop thinking so much about all of it. It’s 3 old guys doing random car shit, not Citizen Kane

Agree, filming a whole series up front makes it hard to tweek as they go. This is a mistake I think, but they may well end up making something decent. I’m not sure what the ratings figures prove, 60 million people voted for Trump and he’s a fucking imbicile. 

I really enjoyed it. i thought it was really fun and I actually LOL’d a bunch of times. By far the best episode yet.
