Image and comment of the day! :-)

I got the felling then some future ex-Leaf buyer will become a Volt buyer.

For folks who can't afford to buy a BMW during that era, the Datsun 510 once nicknamed the "poor's man BMW".

Hard to said, with increased competition from not only China but also India as well as Brazil and I didn't count the others place nicknamed "Silicon" in the United States like "Silicon Forest" around Portland OR, Silicon Hills (Austin TX), Silicon Prairie [en.wikipedia.org] It might come back but the task will be

I suspect Nissan might give some *cough cough*... incentives.

I found an Escort MkI ad (including a promo of the Falcon) of 1973 coming from Down Under in Australia.

I spotted a vintage 1975 Mk II RWD Escort tv ad from the UK. Close but no cigar I know but a fun vintage ad to watch.

Then they rectified that move in 1983 with the intro of the "Aero-Cougar", the Fox-body sedans got the Marquis moniker while the full-size continued under the name of Grand Marquis.

That's nothing compared to what Mercury did with the Cougar moniker later in the decade. In 1977, the Montego sedans and wagons was redesigned and dropped the Montego name for Cougar (there was even a Cougar wagon). They did it again in 1980 for the intro of the 1981 models, the Cougar became a Fox-body variant

Now then you mention it, Chrysler should had stepped on this opportunity to feature the Blues Brothers with a Dodge Charger or a Challenger. (Btw, there one pic of a Challenger police car at [www.allpar.com] just imagine a Photoshopped picture with the Mount Prospect police department logo)

Is it a desesperate move of VW to sell more cars so they can be #1 asap?

I wondered the same thing, I spotted a variant of that theme with an ad showing the F-150 climbing a mountain hauling a Chevy and towing a Dodge.

Interesting to note then part of the footage of that ad was recycled for this 1983 commercial at 0:08 in this clip.

Me too, I didn't saw that one coming.

And here a vintage Sesame Street song titled "Subway" back from the Golden Age of Sesame Street.

I can imagine an update of Dr. Klahn's quote "Take him to the NY Subway". ;-)

What a coincidence, I think of the same thing, looks like great minds meet. ;-)

I wonder if we should thank Ralph Nader for that? He might like beige and vanilla a lot, lol.

I got the felling then Carlos Ghosn might search for a new partner as well...;-)
