Crack pipe. If the Versailles got more design differences to be more different then the Granada, things could had been different..

I could mention a forbidden fruit who was only available in Mexico. Some G-body Monte Carlo SS sold in the Mexican market in 1984 came with a manual 4-speed! [www.montecarloss.com]

More ugly then the 1959? Ironcially, Georges Lucas picked a '58 for the movie "American Graffiti". [www.xframechevy.com] Picture from IMCDB.

Interesting to note then that idea was revived later by Ford Down Under in Australia leading to the current "Utes" we know today. [www.rumrunners.com.au]

And here one more "what if" about what if the 1958 Nomad continued the 1955-57 theme.

I scanned this from a old issue of Collectible Automobile about the 1955-57 trucks in the October 1999 issue and it showed this idea of a "car-truck" or "proto-El Camino" penned by Chuck Jordan in the early 1950s.

Very nice car, I think Jalopnik should post more often some "what if?" and "what might have been?" articles for these cars that never was. ;-)

Good catch, as for the 1970 Plymouth Fury, I think it's a 1971 model, here a pic then I saw at [www.fuselage.de]

Ironically, while the CD player is on the decline, the vinyl record begins its comeback, could we said "what's old is new again"? [www.signonsandiego.com]

Might be off-topic, but I can't resist to post a clip showing the best of Tackleberry from Police Academy movies series. R.I.P David Graf :(

When I check the 4-door T-bird, I wonder if Ford was ahead of its time? Way much later, Pontiac bring a 4-door Grand Prix in 1990 and Dodge a 4-door Charger in 2006. (And Mercury tried this twice with the Cougar in 1977 and 1981.)

Good one but on the other hand I wish then Piech got the same thing. ;-)

You might be on to something....

Speaking of the Duesenberg, we could also mention the 1966 aborted revival who didn't get past the prototype stage. Picture from [blog.hemmings.com]

Then I might also check an eye on the 1956-57 Continental Mark II. Picture from [www.supercars.net] That convertible didn't past the pre-production stage.

A close cotender would be one of the 1957-65 Crown Imperial then Ghia made for Chrysler. Picture from [www.imperialclub.com]

I spotted a picture of Highway 401 (main east-west freeway link in Toronto) closed in 2008 due by a propane explosion at [en.wikipedia.org]

Then on a off-topic note, when I watched these pictures of a proposed E-body 'Cuda that never was on Popular Hot Rodding. I did a sketch attempt, then I posted on Deviantart wondering what if there was a post-1974 Challenger might have look [fav.me] (I even tried to "DeSoto-ized" a Cordoba but that's another story).
