“We’re both dead. Please leave us in peace.”

“is his gentle brother”

Donato’s is better than all these. It’s the only thing I miss about Ohio.

Let’s not overlook the huge L that play by play guy takes in this clip.

I assume you’re currently donating everything you own to a Native American family?

What I do when I get the hashtag guns turned on me, is I take a moment to stop and consider whether they’re making a valid point. If not, I ignore them, and if necessary separate myself from those people.

I would really like to get sports hipsters on my side on this campaign:

I haven’t been this embarrassed by a team I followed since every Cincinnati Bengals season 1991-present.

THIS is a knife

“For all its many, many faults.”

Give it another week and he might be.

“after a somewhat surprising start.”

Again: you win! I concede! So, please consider arguing for legitimate options going forward, instead of just criticizing the well-intentioned attempts of people (NFL players, not me) who are already basically on your side but maybe not choosing the perfect way to protest.

Good night. Feel proud of what you accomplished today. So many marginalized people are proud that you stood up for their rights when they couldn’t.

Are you, or are you not, arguing that NFL players kneeling during the anthem is futile?

Fine. You win. Protesting injustice is futile. You should really feel good about proving that.

Dude, my whole POINT was that you’ve done none of this! What are you contributing? What are your solutions? How SHOULD NFL players deal with a situation that *we both agree* is a real problem? I’m completely open to the idea that kneeling for the anthem isn’t the right answer. But if you agree that there’s a problem,

Which was the part of “your words” where you defined a path towards actually achieving the goal you claim to share with these players, as opposed to just shitting on their methods from the (literal) sideline?

So, to be clear, what you’re arguing is that there’s literally nothing these players could do that would effect change in the world, and therefore they should just give up. Which is a plausible theory! But be honest about what you’re proposing.

What’s the “goal” of standing for the national anthem, hand over your heart? Kneeling isn’t about achieving a goal, it’s about expressing a belief. It’s its own reward.
