Fuck's sake. He's asking a valid question about whether the game might have been more interesting with a female protagonist, not mandating an in-game gender issues awareness tutorial.

The industry does need to please the audience, though, if they want to sell games. That's why discussion and criticism are positive and can have results.
By this logic, no-one should criticize anything ever, including you criticizing this article. So, nice logical paradox.
How was this article "foaming at the mouth", you ignorant hysteric? The author was just saying that a more interesting narrative choice would be to have one of the three playable characters be female.
You have a somewhat valid point to make, but it's obscured by your invocation of the PC boogeyman.
Are you calling Totillo a white knight, or saying that's what others are going to accuse him of?
Not sexist or racist, just dull.
You kind of answered you own question. There are literally thousands of depictions of male gangsters in popular culture. It's dull, unoriginal and kind of cowardly to serve up another slice of the same old narrative.
I agree with you. Rockstar are depicting a shitty world with shitty people in it. Shitty people treat women like shit. That's not inherently sexist.
Everything has meaning, even if you're not sharp enough to catch it.
What? It does exist. The point is, it would be more interesting and fun if it were less misogynist. Well, for most of us.
Your spelling and grammar are as sloppy as your logic.
This is a gaming blog. It talks about games, including where games intersect with other stuff. Take a look down the sidebar. How many of those articles are purely about games, and how many are about the economics of games, references to games in other media, celebrities talking about games, etc? You can't arbitrarily…
Thank you for taking a more measured approach to disagreement than the other mouth-breathers on this site. You can disagree with the points that the article makes without falsely claiming that it's trying to "censor" Rockstar or whining about "political correctness".
No, it's not saying that GTA should be more politically correct. It's saying that GTA would be a more interesting game with a female playable character, and questioning why Rockstar have never taken this route.
Because technological and gameplay improvements are the only things that matter. God forbid a company should try to push narrative and character elements further.
People who think "political correctness" is a scary thing = "Waaaaaah! I can't be sexist or racist without people calling me on it!"
Two straw men (and one fucking ridiculous assumption) in one argument.
You can't see why culture's detritus is as worthy of critical and analytical response as its best work? Especially detritus which is madly popular?
If you’re driving north, up the west coast of Grand Theft Auto V, as I did in the 40th hour I was playing the game,…
