You would think that, DUMB BOY!
You would think that, DUMB BOY!
That’s a really interesting take on the movie and Leo’s character. I had a hard time fully understanding his motivations throughout the film (besides the obvious greed) but if he’s meant to be a stand in for the “white moderate” (to borrow a phrase from Martin Luther King) that makes more sense. I might see the movie…
I don’t agree with all of her points, but I understand and respect her view on this. I’m Jewish, I’ve seen Schindler’s List, it’s not a fun experience watching your people be oppressed and murdered on screen, and it’s probably even more difficult to watch it be depicted by someone who looks like the people who did it,…
“We came dangerously close to having to see what a world without Jeremy Renner looks like earlier this year, when everyone’s favorite man (don’t deny it, you love him) was horribly injured while saving his nephew from a renegade, Maximum Overdrive-style snowplow. It then weirdly became one of the biggest pop culture…
“There hasn’t been a pure standup host since Dane Cook in 2006"
“The Smiths may be too evolved to care what the rest of us think—though clearly they’ll continue to share their thoughts with us, regardless.”
“Depending on who you ask, Ahsoka is either doing very good or very, very good”
I’m convinced he chose this script because it let him shoot a movie where he also got to sit down for the majority of it
John Cusack was already the lead of Better Off Dead when he was 19, only two years after his debut, and became a star in Say Anything when he was 23. I don’t think he counts as someone who toiled for years in obscurity.
Felder saved Joe Walsh’s life by dragging him to rehab at the height of his addiction. And then when Frey and Henley pulled their shit with Felder, Walsh did nothing to stand up for him. If he had I’m sure he’d have been fired too but, man, there’s just such a lack of integrity with everyone in this band and it’s so…
It’s worth watching because they weren't smart enough to whitewash themselves. They accidentally made an incredibly revealing documentary because they don't know that they're assholes. It's actually kind of funny.
Yes
I didn’t have strong feelings about the band until I watched the two-part History of the Eagles documentary, in which Glenn Frey and Don Henley come off as the biggest fucking assholes in history (the way they treated Randy Meisner and, especially, Don Felder is blood boiling). This was a documentary commissioned by…
Oh, it has to do with the quality of the show and that’s why you don’t like it? Funny, I remember the AV Club declaring it to be terrible and hoping it would never be seen by anyone before a minute of it had aired. So, I guess maybe she’s absolutely right because you had no idea if the show was good or not before…
If the AV Club couldn't babble inanely about things, this whole site would cease to exist
“We strongly requested the District Attorney dismiss all charges against Mr. Majors immediately and initiate proceedings against Ms. Jabbari, holding her accountable for her crimes”
Bumblebee was good. Why not just make Bumblebee 2 instead of whatever this is?
Yeah, this ain’t new. People have been talking about this phenomenon since 90210, and that was 30 years ago. I remember what a big deal it was that Freaks and Geeks had actual teenagers in the cast, and how tiny they were in comparison to what we were used to seeing on those shows.
