This story makes Jussie Smollett so happy.

Gonna hop in for a moment here. As the poor AF son of two poor AF blue collar laborers, the pressure to go to college was just as present down in our caste, if for different reasons. (And please excuse my tone here. I'm sure it's coming off more acid-filled than I intend. You see, I have a B.S. AND an MFA and yet

No, you’re not alone its all the artificial, chemical based makeup pancaked and plastic surgery from 14, 15. She’s a year out of high but has been made to look like a 35-year-old OC divorcee.

This reminds me of Courtney Stodden. It seemed almost incredulous that she was a teenager until you saw her with no makeup on.

It increases sex trafficking because there must be enough supply to meet demand.

Her parents are millionaires and you’re acting like she needs to plan for her future. Lol.

Some of my coworkers’ teenage kids want to drop out of school and become influencers or twitch streamers. Sounds terrifying to me, but imitating the boomer path of college = success doesn’t really make as much sense these days either.

Not trying to be nitpicky, but that is expectation in ANY middle- to upper-middle class suburb. Not just the private school families, but ALL families in an area where at least one parent is in a white collar job. The pressure and competition is getting insane, and to your point, vocational and community colleges are

I have a couple ideas:

Being designated as a recruit is not the same thing as receiving a scholarship and thus does not require actual participation in the sport at the collegiate level. Plenty of college athletes, including those in revenue-generating programs at large schools (i.e. big time football and basketball programs) but

USC is not a state school and it has a 17% admittance rate.

have enough money and go through the process, anything is possible.

The joke’s on him when he has to reflect on the horror’s he’s participated in and tries to escape with his son by flying away only to have his son perish when his wings melt and he falls into the ocean.

I don’t get how you can’t blame Magic Johnson for this. Yes, you have James but you also have a GM who’s a step away from “the rule book doesn’t say a dog CAN’T play basketball!”

Headline: “Former Player Goes Bananas in Stands”

Aren’t you being an annoying contrarian by attempting to shut down a different opinion?

They were been able to “make that decision” by specifically negotiating it into the CBA, which was agreed upon and entered into by the WNT. Saying they weren’t is a flat out nonsense statement.

On average they may be paid less (median probably tells a different story) because they made the decision to trade a higher ceiling/no floor for a lower ceiling/higher floor.

Had the commercial featured 2 black girls (at least one of whom had dark skin and tight curls or a fro), a Latina, and a white girl, no one would have even batted an eye. I'm tired of having to explain to people that the issue isn't that "they had white girls in their commercial" or that "they are trying to expand
