The "He wants you to know that he will see you soon" probably confirms that sometime before this point, the creatives knew that Eko's actor wasn't long for the show. I guess in-story it was good to foreshadow his death, although I remember on first watch being sad because I liked Eko a lot.

Oops, forgot about that.

Personally, I think there were people whom Jacob or the Island or both "wanted," and those who just got dragged along for the ride (Frogurt and Arzt come to mind.) Jacob in particular doesn't seem to care about collateral damage. I agree that it would really suck to be in that position.

We don't see Kate tell Jack about the disguises, IIRC. It's an unfortunate omission, because I think she would have told him.

Oh, yeah, I follow that tumblr: very enjoyable. The meta on Hurley is right after my own heart.

How did I miss this comment?

> Jack's confidence that they could take down the Others.

>I believed when it aired live that Locke would be fine when he time-jumped but I was in the minority on that one.

>So you're saying the Swan is like anti-Island, since we both like the thought that the Island "heals" people?

>Side note for Sayid: never tell anyone about that beach again!

>Bernard, unaware that Rose is cured, wants to get off the Island.

Yup, I remember writing that, but I'll tell you that my views on Libby have changed a bit after a couple of rewatches. Now I think that Libby was treated very badly as a character, and *not* by Hurley, but by the writers themselves.

>I don't believe for a second that Locke would have gotten the $200K if he had decided to take it from the hotel.

>The pregnancy was a surprise twist at the time it aired…

Re: Team Rousseau: Was this another production issue, where Mira Furlan wanted to leave the show or something?

I agree that "it's all about the characters" has problems, because characters don't exist independently of plot. Even a whole episode of people fishing and peeling coconuts is a plot (not much of one, but that's not the issue here.)

Aw, you're right. He gives Hurley the manifest and gives Claire the journals.

I never even remembered the outrigger until I read something from the 2014 Paleyfest, where it was a big question.

I love Season One so hard. It's the season of LOST which has become embedded in the popular consciousness. It's what people parody.

To me, Sawyer's moment started when he didn't argue with Hurley about giving up the manifest. The Tricia Tanaka scene was great - as was "But wasn't it nice… being nice?" By then Sawyer is sunk. A few days, a week later, literally, he's highly socially bonded to the group, and even at the Barracks is telling Locke,
