The problem is, people have a known cognitive bias toward blaming victims. By blaming victims, we tend to reinforce the idea that we are superior, that we would never have made similar mistakes.

I already know it’s going to come up, but just because you’re more conniving and underhanded than the average individual, and you’re willing to take advantage of someone not as clever or thorough or as smart as you does not mean it’s OKAY to take advantage of people.
