Part of the problem is there isn’t enough money in Indy. That’s why they cant keep the superstar drivers. Danica brought ton of attention to the sport, but she left because of money. Even though she isn’t a particularly good driver, she attracted much needed attention. People go where the money is, and its not in

you couldn’t pay me enough to ride a bus from south Texas to NYC :-) maybe you could, $1 million would do it.

you guys should have a contest to bring a lucky reader from out of sate to the festivities. i’d like to formally enter-to-win :-)

when I got to the part where you suggested cross-cabriolet, I fell over laughing. Well played sir, you got me good f***er

Love this write-up. I have been considering for some time trading in the 911 for an aston, because everyone and their mother drives a 911 now, but I think you just convinced me to keep it despite blending into the crowd.

This is the most hilarious post I’ve read all week, immediately sent to all my NZ coworkers :-)

How about a “restomod?” Hear me out everyone, before you say you are tired of hearing the word restomod! I’ve been thinking about doing this as my next purchase. Pick an old car I wouldn’t mind daily driving if it were updated, and find a good restomod job that is still in the original spirit of restomod, looks

took you 18 months to come up with that? well played.

And here is the dilemma, when you really want to buy a 911 GTS, but can only get this interior. First world problems

206 horsepower out of a non-turbo four is actually horseshit. Porsche 968 non-turbo 4 - 240 horsepower. the nineties called and said you are doing it wrong :-)

You got me beat by a long shot, I’ve got a 997.1 C4S and a ‘94 968. Trying to figure out what the next one will be. Thinking about trading in the 997 for a 997 GTS, but then I also want a 993, or a 70s or 80s 911. 1st world problems. I also have 2 trucks, so space is at a premium :-)

I’ve already started my collection, but it will be a long slow road to acquiring more. My collection will be nothing as fancy, but it will be unique to me, and like this family, mine will all be driven, by everyone in my family.

Whatever happened to drive it like you stole it, hasn’t this guy played NFS shot pursuit, he was doin it granny style!

Do you know where yours was in the production run? I can imagine if it was early enough it might have had a lot of issues. Have you sorted through all those issues and been happy ever since? I guess that begs the question if you still have it.

I have a ‘06 997 C4S, had it for 3 years, drive it every week, done track weekends with it, and I’ve only done oil changes to it, no other major maintenance. This is a great car, worth every penny I saved for it. My ‘94 968 is a similar story, owned it for 12 years, 1 valve job and an a/c compressor, timing belt and a

Com down man, I said it all in jest, have a coke and a smile :-)

A. I own one :-) B. most sources will cite nearly 50/50 but the factory specs on the 968 show closer to 49/51 because the larger engine of the 968 may the front end slightly heavier than the 2.5 litre front engine cars before the 968.

The 968 is not 50/50 weight distribution (more like 51/49), and it has a 3.0 liter engine. Get your facts straight man, it's hard for me to enjoy the donuts when someone is wrong on the internet!

I’ve lived in Texas so long I forgot that other states don’t have yearly vehicle inspections. Not that they are very good inspections, and the station vary wildly on what they will or wont pass, but it’s something that keeps some crazy heaps off the road, that is if you want to be legal.

How would i go about finding a car if I only have an old license plate number? say for instance i want to track down my great grandfathers chevy truck?
