Leveling may be fast, but you'll have to play through the main story (or pay to skip it) if you want to actually play later expansions. The recent DLC drop adding new random missions (that seem to have higher level baddies to fight) have been interesting for me.
It’s got a decent concept behind it but it depends on how they release it. I don’t think it’s something that’ll do well if sold at full price.

You’re right, but it’s really just a small part of the greater problem: annualization of the franchise.
I think the biggest improvement they made from Pro Skater 1 to 2 was including full versions of the songs and not just two minute clips.
