I did Mt. Gulg last night, and Twelve Gods it was epic! Fighting on a massive golem that is HOLDING UP A MOUNTAIN as you run along its arm, with Soken’s score, and then the oddly flat, white and gold tacky paradise fighting monsters with names like Forgiven Hypocrisy and Forgiven Prejudice...just brilliant.

I’d just like to correct that your summary of Heavensward is slightly off. It’s Midgardsormr that robs you of your power near the end of ARR and you spend most of Heavensward getting it back, while Midgard sometimes pop up to say cryptic stuff. Nidhogg never steals your power, he just...errr...does nasty shit to my

Yes, the controller controls are fine.

clueless question. i think i’ve seen this available on the ps4. is it fun/worth playing on console?

Can you solo in this game or is it super dependent on the party system like FF11???

It's largely solo, the dungeons will party match you. But the way the story revolves around your character in particular is pretty great

> Ghost train!

They’re gonna have a hard time topping Emet-Selch as a villain for me. Probably my favorite character in the whole game at this point.

No love for Akademia Anyder? I loved the theme of a research facility out of control, and the jazzy piano was great. Doing it also hyped up the Archaeotania FATE.

The Twinning has the best music of any dungeon in the expansion. It’s got Omega, it’s got Syrcus Tower, and it’s got Alexander, and oh god do I crank it up whenever I get that dungeon.

Shadowbringers is a masterpiece of storytelling and proves that an MMO can deliver empathetic characters (AND villains) while also having the player character feel included as a major part of the world and the story. FFXIV has come such a long way, and I’m really proud of the team at Square Enix for pushing it this

In general I play FFXIV because I enjoy the raiding - the difficult endgame content that continues to challenge me. But holy shit did I take my time getting to 80 because the MSQ was so compelling this time around.

I will fight anyone who tries to hurt Mama Thicc Kitty.

I agree with everything except that I think the best order is Alisaie, then Alphinaud. I just sat and stared at my screen for several minutes after what happened to a certain character. It really cements the stakes.

I used electrical spray a few times, and after that stopped being effective, I bought a replacement joystick and swapped it out. It was much easier than you’d think. Since the replacement, I haven’t had a single issue.

Ima break the cycle and have my gunbreaker look like Lightning. That will...

At the outset of 1.0 and also 2.0, “adventurer” was a common profession in the setting (indeed, you start as one). The idea is that everyone else running around the world and grouping together is also an adventurer who you, the hero, occasionally team up with and bring along to help with Plot Battles.

I adore this song. It’s perfect. I’m just going to reshare the remade lyrics from reddit I contributed to in a Friday rage thread about Titania EX:

I wish I could watch the reaction of everyone playing at some of the holy shit moments in the last zone.

I pretty much stopped after Cataclysm, but yeah. The problem i always had was that you always sort of ended up watching more important heroes do their thing in cutscenes. But FFXIV really makes you the center of the story.
