You are absolutely right. It will take other officers to step up and decry these acts. That would help on two folds. It would help the process of regaining the trust of the people. The thing is the officers know who amongst them are not fit for duty. This us vs them gang mentality has to stop.

Man I'm guilty of making a similarly boneheaded call. I was calling an AAU championship game and I called a 3 sec violation within a minute of play. It was most definitely a correct call but with all things considered I should've swallowed the whistle. I Guarantee you this guy would do the same in retrospect
