This is a bad take. I literally have never met a single person who (incorrectly) thinks the US is best at soccer. Taking “we should have qualified in frickin CONCACAF” to “hur dur we’re the best!” is a ridiculous strawman.

It works both ways. Call a far-lefty a snowflake when they’re being one, and it’s “F*** you, you sexist misogynist MAGA blah blah blah!” Do it to a neo-con who is being one and, like you said, the world actually melts down.

The scary part for me was what could’ve happened. I leaned against an old wooden post when I got nipped on one arm...while holding my then 18 month-old son in the other. *That* would’ve been an ER visit.

I got bit by one. My back felt tight that evening, and I got a red sore that looked like a half-dollar that got squished into an ellipses. I googled that no adult American had died from it since like 1984, and knew I’d be fine. *shrugs*

I believe they don’t because it isn’t deemed “a serious threat”, that it’s more akin to yelling at the TV.

I need a drink.

“Winder”?? Ugh.

There are actual grownups who skip the first R in libRary?

This made my morning.

I for one didn’t notice the hat. Having now looked at it, it’s a statement to either my exhaustion and/or the idiocy of the action that I failed to read a yellow-on-black logo written in giant font. Pouring another cup of coffee now JIC...

In the justice of an 80s movie, you would’ve shoved the bag of grain at him with no legal ramifications. Hilariously, he would have fallen onto a giant pile of manure.

This is the correct take. I came here to make it, and I feel like there’s very little to debate on the topic.

The F&F franchise has #6 & #11 on the all time worldwide box office list (not adjusting for inflation). There is nothing “ordinary” about $1.2 or $1.5B; only 31 movies have ever crossed the billion mark, and only one this year (Star Wars will make it two).

That’s a very legitimate question that I can’t answer as I have not yet seen The Thing. It’s on my list, hopefully soon.

A smaller scale film set in the MCU, where a man, falsely accused of a GIANT terrorist attack, is trying to prove his innocence while he’s pursued by “earth’s mightiest heroes” (TM). Title: Dodge Avengers. :)

That guy has issues, and a very poor understanding of the canine psyche. And I’m not even a dog-owner.

It is probably a shorter list of scifi movies that weren’t influenced by Blade Runner than ones that were.

100% agree. Event Horizon is the best horror scifi ever made.

Event Horizon holds up brilliantly! You are FAKE NEWS!

Agree with both of you. and SPOILER ALERT for Snowpiercer!
