I breastfed for 18 months, without resorting to eating any bio-waste. I just drank dark beer when I was concerned about my milk supply. (Also, there are cookies you can make with brewers yeast and flax seed. COOKIES>>>>>PLACENTA, FYI)

The other day there were like a dozen cop cars on my street and it wasn't until today that I found out why: a neighbor of mine was driving around dressed on body armor and shooting a gun into random cars. Now the story is posting to various anti-gun blogs. This was literally three houses down from me in the quietest,…
Curly hair IS weird. My hair started to look awful right at the start of puberty (like, Hermione Granger level bushy), and I didn't find out it was curly until a camping trip in ninth grade. No blow dryer and no brush and POOF, ringlets. It then took me another ten years to figure out how to keep it looking decent,…
Had Mirena, had it removed to make way for a kiddo (which happened like, instantly, I am not even kidding), then got a new one. Insertion is not awesome, but it goes away after a day or so, and I haven't had a real period in YEARS. Glorious.
That movie just doesn't get referenced enough.
I love questions like this. What I loved: my Baby K'tan carrier, bouncy seat, cloth diapers, onesies, footy pajamas, Agent bottles, Ameda breast pump, crib, changing table.
I'm a little late to this party, but I saw you're a pharmacist and I wanted to see if this situation was normal the other day.
Either she's heard that one before or that princess boot camp was fucking comprehensive.
I used to love it, but now I do find it waxy. I much prefer the dark chocolate peanut butter made by Peanut Butter & Co.
Congrats! Other than the normal Baby Center emails, I enjoyed reading the pregnancy column over at Alphamom.com. It's written by one of my favorite bloggers ever.
I have a Britax Boulevard (or possibly Marathon? The one that goes to 70 lbs.) in my Mazda 3 hatchback. Rear facing, it only fits in the middle seat, but that's the safest place anyway.
Mark is indeed awesome! I sent him a tip on Twitter when I read an article elsewhere about the Hot Car Dad, and he had a post up here within hours, exploring the topic more in depth (and crediting me!). So yeah, he is great.
I love the line that your friend used, actually. I've been breastfeeding for over a year now and have yet to encounter any static about it in public, so I've sadly had no practice in zinger-delivery. I don't know what I would say if someone DID say something, but then I've always been the type to think of the exact…
Right? The other day, to say thank you for someone who had covered for him, my husband made two loaves of delicious whole wheat baguette from scratch. Which were politely declined due to the man's Celiac disease. (Which I get is real & serious, but what were the odds?)
I went to a dry wedding at which the groom was a recovering alcoholic. They served fancy sodas and such. I didn't mind and had fun.
That was a very Hufflepuff thing to say. Maybe it won't be so bad. :)
I just took it. FUCKING HUFFLEPUFF?? I always test into Ravenclaw, dammit.
I did the measuring at home using the metric side of a ruler, as per their instructions. Zenni sent me a nicer measuring tool with my new specs, too, but if you're concerned, I would just get measured at the eye doctor's. (I admit, I was a little haphazard since I usually wear contacts. ) I also uploaded a photo so…
Check out online glasses stores. They have really good prices. My frames I got from Zenni Optical were like, $13, with basic lenses included. My vision is so poor, I needed to spring for nicer lenses (another $30 or so), but it was still well under what I paid last time at the eye doctor's office.
Also, once you get your glasses prescription, there are online eyeglass shops that are waaay cheaper than lenscrafters. I used Zenni Optical to update my specs, and didn't want to spend $100+. Now that my glasses are actually the right strength (and cuter than my old ones), I wear them more.
