Except Baelor was well written and not shock for shock's sake. This was so gratuitous. I'm questioning why I still watch at this point and coming up pretty empty.

Yep! I think there are 2 or 3 volumes. It's more traditional superhero in tone but it is just perfectly executed. Also, Walt Simonson drew it as well, so it is a gorgeous comic.
By my money, Moore's run on Swamp Thing is second only to Simonson's Thor for the title of best run on a superhero book. It's really just superlative, I might actually like it more than I like Watchmen.
The Abby thing is very much written as rape. She knows that something is wrong with her husband and the aftermath is written as her felling damaged and dirty, and unable to clean the "smell" off of herself. It's quite horrific honestly, but the story is exceedingly well handled and well written.
I think we can all agree that Mark Millar is just the worst (next to maybe Brad Meltzer) and I definitely think that Moore writes stories about rape and rape survivors better than most, but there are still some examples of it that just rub me the wrong way. Notably Silk Spectre in watchmen and its use in League.
I don't think his use of rape is changing anything up. Adding dark or gritty elements doesn't make writing better or more interesting as shown by the countless hack writers that include rape as a plot point for the sake of making things more "complex" (see: Identity Crisis). There are a lot of things that make Moores…
Incredibly pretty, and that accent….
That is a good one. For me its when Wally gets the upper hand in the fight, knocks Zoom to the ground and shots "I've met Barry Allen and believe me, you're no Barry Allen!"
My body is ready for "The Flash of Two Worlds"
It contains my single favorite splash page in comics history.
I lost mine unfortunately, all the issues are on DC'S digital store. I picked it up during a sale at like .99 an issue.
OH GOD I SCREAMED AT JAY GARRICK'S HELMET.
"I've met Barry Allen and believe me, you're no Barry Allen!"
Why, thank you. I didn't even know I had it in me, I'm so glorious this season.
I feel like the only character they shouldn't recast is JK Simmons as JJJ, such perfect casting
Maybe that is what they'll do. Erik taught the team for a while when Xavier had to go into space wo Lilandra to recover from his recent death and resurrection.
The only one that gets brought up is the lesser, third one.
Can we just post our favorite Claremontisms? I'm always fond of "the focus totality of his/her/our psychic power" or, of course "there was no quarter asked, and none given"
Ilyanna was brought into Limbo with the Xmen at age 7, she was trapped there by Bellasco who wanted to turn her into the Darkchylde who would usher in the apocalypse. She was kept there for 7 years was trained in the dark arts and had her soul twisted and corrupted. Her mutant power to teleport through limbo became…
Warlock, followed by Dani, Rahne, and Cannonball (who of course, is nigh invulnerable when is blastin'!)
