God damn, its going to be weird not having the two of them back to back. I'm going to miss their occasional cross overs and the wonderful chemistry (read: sexual tension) between them.

I need help reacting to something

There's nothing like rewatching Baseball during the dead of winter and finding yourself crying ever time that acoustic version of "take me out to the ball game" plays.

It definitely gets caught up in the love of the game, but I can forgive it that. As a wise man once said, its hard not to get romantic about baseball.

That is exactly what he is, except the extreme version of that guy who thinks classic rock died with the Beatles and thinks Zeppelin sucks (Zeppelin in this metaphor being Coltrane).

Marsalis is the worst. He's a great player, but god, I can't stand his approach to jazz, and his opinion on its history.

As a huge fan of jazz, I cannot stand that documentary. He obviously has some love for the music, but like you say, I think he believes it died with bebop. With that belief he dismisses some of the greatest jazz music ever made, and basically just mentions it in passing while flying through that last episode.

What is wrong with acting like a little kid when talking about baseball?

I love how sisterly they were in that seen.

always

Nothing can beat that last scene on the ball field though. It makes me cry happy tears every time.

They were actually rarely used by the allies who managed to loot one, often because they couldn't figure out the safety mechanism.

Storming Utah is still better than storming Omaha.

The greatest thing about Joe Toye surviving those two grenades is that it is one of the things directly taken from the historical record. He was just that fucking lucky. It really hammers down Todd's point about how a majority of these people survived due to sheer dumb luck. Here we have a man survive two point blank…

Honestly, for me 5-10 are all just perfect television, but I would definitely agree that 5-7 is probably the peak of the series.

The two episodes in Bastogne are both firmly entrenched in my list of Greatest Television Episodes of All Time. I can definitely understand not wanting to watch The Breaking Point…..its tough.

Yeah its basically "Oh you guys are going to Bastogne! I got some weapons! Have fun!"

Both Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan are the best for "Hey its that guy!"

That one is the most hilarious for me.
