Unlined wool doesn’t keep you warm in the winter (I live in New England). Unlined wool = fall coat. Lined wool = winter coat. The difference a lining makes is tremendous, particularly if it’s Thinsulate or some other super warm material.

The coats people have been posting are mostly one layer of wool with most likely some sort of cold plasticy lining. They will freeze once actual winter happens.
