When the Isle of Man TT organizers say something is dangerous, it’s really fucking dangerous.

Either the OEM tires have a shit ton of grip or- most likely this was the result of a nitrous setup that isn’t matched well with the other systems. Odd part was that it happened at higher speeds where the applied torque is lower than launch. 100 shot of nitrous doesn’t add up. I’m guessing the tire on that side DID

Broken halfshafts on the stock Michelins...now that is sad. I’m used to seeing that when people slap on some drag radials or slicks on a bolt-on or aftermarket-boosted car, but not on street tires. Someone signed off on a pretty low design margin...

They’re lucky they didn’t blow the intake off the thing.

Strong COTD contender

From the Facebook page linked:

Correct. Racing governing bodies classify nitrous as a power adder, same as boost. Naturally aspirated = no power adder of any kind.

Every performance driveshaft company:

My favorite part of the GTR was that using factory-provided launch control voided the warranty on the first few model years.

“Did he just 4L60 that brand new Corvette?”

However much it took to break the car and get their name/video out there all over the internet.

Appears to be owned by a shop. If it does well, it’s publicity. If it blows up...it’s even MORE publicity (and a learning experience on how to sell more gear to customers).

I’d wager they fully expected to break the car, they just didn’t know what they were going to break.

It really is a Ferrari experience at a quarter the price.

The original GT-R is much better, it didn’t even require nitrous to brick itself.

We’re literally dying.

I still want them to build the EXP 10 Speed Six.

These things are so huge, heavy and are riding so high, they are basically convertible SUV’s.

I’m glad I read the article, but the case was sufficiently made by the headline and the top picture.
