Not necessarily. Porsche makes great margins off every car they sell, but Toyota makes more profit overall. More R8 sales could make Audi more money; however, you could be right about a more expensive limited trim.

That’s where the “more stripped down version.” comes in (i.e. more than just the AWD system).

I could also see this being a special more track focused version costing more than the current R8.

I am down for a lighter, more stripped down version of the new R8. Maybe this will be their means of making the R8 the supercar bargain the first generation was when it came out.
