Look at the articles about how Tesla has to go to court in just about every state they want to sell in to be able to sell direct. They win most of the time; however, they cannot seem to win in Texas.

And the cars usually have steep depreciation curves.
I agree with you on this one. That’s like if Mcdonalds will not sell you a burger because you’re overweight. Yeah you don’t need it, but that’s what you want so they sell you what you came in there for. It’s a good thing most new (new credit) car buyers (usually) cannot finance a $30k first time around though.
This. Instead of coming in for fuel they come in for battery change. Plus they would be in their own class. So even if it takes a couple of minutes to change a battery they are competing with other people that take a while to change batteries too.
Hopefully Honda stays in F1 and partners with a lower tier team and does well, But I honestly can’t blame McLaren.
Can’t fault you for that; however, another factor to include is that 8.5 times out of 10 that Civic Type R is going to hold a lot more value than the mustang.
This is the greatest counterpoint I’ve ever read.
Does Tesla have any involvement in any type of motorsport?
Mess with the Panda and get the death threats.
At first it sounds like people need to get over it, but you have a good point.
They only struggle with a simple fix because it has to be cheap. Heat transfers ARE pretty simple to improve, but improve cheaply is a whole different story.
Whenever you’re valuating things you go off sold and current listing comparable (more so current listing in auto motive, more sold in the housing market). Whatever the market has for offer that compares to your car is where you get your value from, because that’s your competition.
I commented this under a second reply to willconltd:
That sounds like an awesome setup. I’ve always wanted to do a light weight drive shaft. I went from a 24lb to 8.1lb flywheel and lightening the drive train and engine accessories REALLY does make a difference. I might have to do the carbon fiber drive shaft and pulleys on my car.
That looks beautiful. Any mods on the WRX?
Looking at the market if you can catch it when there are barely any for sale and have a pristine example with super low miles I could see one possibly going for $80k. Would have to be a sought after color and options list.
I posted some s54 equipped 2002 models for sale.
Is that the xtreme xotics track experience (or however it’s spelled)?
Although looking at the market for the s54 models on the right day at the right place you probably COULD probably sell one for 80k with 10k miles.
No they are not.
