a friend of mine hit a pothole just like that on I-75 north several years ago... a MK2 GTI with 17" low profile rubber did fair well... crack both pass side wheels right through... wish i could find the pics

2002 Mazda Protege5... i had a ball with mine, it was definitely slow (130hp), but it revved hard, sounded snarly, had stiff suspension and low profile tires (195/50-16s) right from the factory and weighed about 2700lbs.
