Fast sure but lacking in feel prestige and pedigree. I think less and less m cars are sold to enthusiasts every year and most buy them for the badge and the status that comes with buying the most expensive bmw you can. It seems enthusiasts who race look for e46 and earlier

Okay wake me up when I can buy this from the dealer:

Maybe embarrassing is a better word. I guess what I’m saying is every other manufacturer has all but matched the veyrons performance with half the cylinders and turbos. Today’s crop of hyper cars don’t use more cylinders of turbos they employ alternate drivetrains. Every other manufacturer has moved away from big

Factory racing circuits where they use the exact same car they sell in the dealership to win races

M stands for Motorsport which means racing which bmw doesn’t do with their cars anymore so this car really doesn’t improve the m brand for me. same old marketing scheme

Ala does not mean originator. Until you provide me with a definition that says as much your wrong and the wording is fine. Your the only one who is interpreting it as saying the toyota was inspired by the mclaren

so you think Ferraris lambos mclarens and porsches aren’t comfortable?

its cringeworthy Bugatti still thinks cars need 16 cylinders and 4 turbos to go fast. when will they learn?

he said the door design is not just like the McLaren F1 which it is. so much so that it was the inspiration for murray and they are all but identical

ala doesn’t mean "which inspired the". the article has no mistakes

what are you saying? the Toyota has doors like the McLaren. the McLaren has doors like the Toyota. no one ever said the McLaren came first

Don't we (enthusiasts) hate start stop tech? I'm not bothered by it but my parents HATE that feature on the glk and it makes you turn it off every single time you start your car. How much gas is it actually saving and how is it not putting additional stress on the starter and battery?

more hp than claimed from my personal favorite site:

again I love my st too and im not tuned either but you need to get that the gti is better and faster....it makes way above what ever low hp they are claiming and its lighter with a bigger turbo. its faster in a straight line faster around a track faster at the drag strip faster in 2 doors faster in 4 doors faster with

I guess I need to test drive the gti.....its supposed to be noticeably faster and more receptive to a tune than our tiny turbo is

I cant speak for handling I just know the mk7 gti has the st beat in almost every category short of “feel” or “fun to drive”. the fact is the R is a monster when tuned and I don’t see the fors breaking 4 seconds.

why does hp matter to you when the R is just as fast and easily much faster than the ford for the same price? hp doesn’t matter, 0-60 and 1/4 mile do.

I guess.....it just seems like on paper the two cars are identical in every way so don’t see why the rs is breaking ground into a car that Subaru built 10 years ago. I own an ST too so don’t think im hating on ford I think this car will be killer

its supposed to be a monster performance wise. I think tunes bring it down to 4.0 seconds to 60. I honestly don’t know why everyone is ignoring the golf R. its brand new and quick and great. people ignore the sti cuz its stale but the R seems great on paper yet I hear nothing about it while everyone praises the RS as

not to mention it is sooooo boring looking. I easily glance right past it because it looks so dialed back. some people may like that but I don’t.
