How on earth is what’s described here sex assault? He asked her to do something and she consented. Removing the condom without her knowledge I get being classified as assault.

I can appreciate the desire to shit on a likely rapist, but making those critiques about appearance are unhelpful at best, extremely harmful at worst.
Canada as well. Poppies are everywhere in lead up to Remembrance Day and not sure if it’s still the case but we were taught the poem in elementary school repeatedly. There was even a national heritage commercial about it at one point:
I think there’s a reflex where people (predominantly white) see people like him doing good work and assume that’s who they’d be/are, so when you point out that even if you’re doing good work you’re often still excluding marginalized voices they get agitated.
I have a deep appreciation for the work that Ronan has done and continued to do and how he uses his voice and his privilege.
I’m curious what the conviction rates are comparatively.

While not asking about attire, I will say comments on the Kevin Sorbo article re: Versace are very very very victim-blamey. It was actually kind of shocking.
Imma go with Tom Hardy. Was gonna guess Cumberbatch than Hardy came to mind especially when you emphasized “PUBLICLY” bc of his past comments about being bi but not linked to anyone specifically that I’m aware of.
Why tf am I seeing an ad for a Gavin McInnes show on The Root?!
So glad I scrolled down-this really should be the top comment, lol.
I know I’m late to this convo, but Beatty was the least annoying to me in the situation. Most annoying is a tie between the La La Land producer who knew they’d lost and *still* decided to give an acceptance speech, and the absolute idiocy being bandied about by Jimmy Kimmel who was more concerned with making sure La…
Thanks so much for sharing this. Really appreciative of what this guy is doing.
Hey Madeleine, this was a phenomenal interview! Was a real pleasure to read something like this on Jezebel. Doesn’t mean I necessarily agree with all of Crispin’s points but I do think it was a very important discussion to be had.
Hard disagree on the valid reasoning, it was lame fear-mongering and not at all accurate. The Libs are back in power and believe that the time they became the third party was just a glitch, so let’s get everything back to the way it was and not try to improve it for the Canadian people.
The biggest one is electoral reform, he promised he the last election would be the last one under the First-Past-The-Post system. A number of voters from the NDP party (left of the Liberals) voted for him (and not their own candidate) just to keep the conservative candidate (pre-Trudeau PM) out of office. After JT got…
My first time seeing her as a brunette, never realized how stunning she is. This whole vid is awesome, although I think Janelle has some deer caught in headlights look going on at points.
I feel this way about Zoe Kravitz. She’s pretty, but nowhere near as striking looking as her parents.
They did misspell it but it was “boycottbudwiser”, so people started trolling them asking who this Bud Wiser person everybody was so upset with. Pretty funny actually.
Okay, interesting, I wasn’t aware of it being returned. I was reading through the overview on their wikipedia listing and found it pretty confusing (corporate financial speak sounds like Charlie Brown’s teacher to me), so thanks for explaining.
