Lol, touché.
Lol, touché.
So in some ways I think of Trudeau as being kind of like our Obama moment (obviously that was a way bigger deal in the US) - you were coming off 8 years of Bush, we were coming off 10 years of Harper.
Ok. I totally dig what he’s saying, except, as a East Coast Canadian, it vexes me no end, how he (and many other mainland Canadians) say “mum” like the British.
I’m so miserably sick right now and have two assignments due tonight, but my friend just sent me this and it totally made my day:
I think it’s llamas that spit.
Yeah, that stuck out to me too. Like, ok, I guess if this is funny we can also laugh when Black Africans say or joke that all Black Americans are uneducated thugs because it’s funny right?! Hahahaha...ha...ha...ha...
:(
I did really like Frasier when it was on bc I appreciated the comedy of it (not a Seinfeld fan, don’t find it funny now, didn’t then), but they were uber-white. Also agreed that I’m not sure if I would watch it if it came out now, but when I go home to visit my folks we rewatch it sometimes, which is much less painful…
Yeah, I came here to see how other ppl felt about this show. I haven’t watched it, and I thought about it bc I have really liked Arnett in the past when he’s done full-on comedy (Arrested Development, 30 Rock), but when I watched the trailer for Flaked I couldn’t see myself watching it.
Shoutout which female screenwriters would have been good for this. Off the top of my head, I’m thinking Leslye Headland.
I know there was more than one, but the only one I can recall at the moment was related to an item of women’s clothing being in a size large and Lorelei was all like “Ewww” or some other note of disgust.
I also kind of like that she’s the most famous of all of them now.
Obviously, I’m the voice of dissent here, but Dean was the only boyfriend of hers I liked. Jess was annoying and Logan actually made my skin crawl.
If I had to speculate there’s a confidence with being in your own skin that comes as you get older that is very attractive to the opposite sex, which they pick up on in person and let their guard down/are open to.
I don’t remember which dating site it was for, but based on their data women generally contacted / conversed with ppl close to their own age, and men no matter how old they were, consistently went after 21-22 year-olds.
Seriously. Between this and the sugar babies article I read on The Atlantic yesterday I feel like there’s some Darwin’s Nightmare action happening. For the record it’s from 2014, I just discovered it for the first time yesterday:
No problem ;)
Hi fellow Canadian, You can watch the clips online at Global TV: http://www.globaltv.com/saturdaynightl…
Don’t get too excited about that. It was originally supposed to be an Asian woman, and a bunch of ‘patriots’ got all worked up and they made it a white woman so it would be more “neutral”...
I lol’d so hard the first time I saw that pic of Trudeau Sr. carrying him as a kid.
