I think that they too often sacrifice comedy to do an actual educational piece. I watch it to laugh at his takes on news and I think most people do the same. If you’re watching Oliver, you’re probably already aligned with him on the policy issues so some of his “deep dives” into policy go too deep and I tune out.

lol - I think you’re right on that. I always wondered why this strategy ever caught on because (a) young people don’t vote as often as they should and can’t be relied on and (b) as people age, they get more conservative so they replace the people that are dying at a fairly consistent rate.

I think both parties have routinely used Dreamers, and all immigrants, as political footballs. The Democrats had a couple years where they owned the WH and Congress and they didn’t do a damned thing to help.

The fact many illegal immigrants arrive on tourist visas doesn’t mean that no one is coming in illegally through Mexico, particularly those that may have already been deported once and can’t get back in with a visa.

I dunno but I’m pretty sure that people enter the US from Mexico all the time. Literally, all the time.
