Well, TV still costs a little less, so there's not as much motivation to micromanage. But, you do have a point about the 70's; it's pretty much my favorite decade of any genre of film. Perhaps I should have said 80's, where the vigilante thing survived, while other stuff, not so much.

Yes, he is actually right, and yes, it's depressing as fuck. Of course, you could have been saying the same thing since the 70's, with Dirty Harry and Deathwish and whatnot.

Yeah, I'll have to get that. One of the better of the heisei series (not saying much), but I'm a completist, so what are you gonna do?

Thank you.

Thank you.

I like the leads fine; my problems pretty much all come from act III, when it tries to become some kind of half-assed action movie for a minute. It doesn't totally shit the bed, but it definitely sharted a little.

Hah! My folks bought one of those, and I actually said "You bought a BETA!"

OK, Wally Pfister was dogging on the cinematography in The Avengers, right? Am I the only one who thought he managed to make Anne Hathaway look blotchy and hunchbacked (well, not in her catsuit, though)? I mean, how do you manage to make her look gross? Not to mention the whole movie has a color palette of dirty snow.

I'm really trying to keep my expectations in check on this one. Primer is one of the few sci fi movies to play fair with its internal logic. It's why it stands up to repeat viewing so well; it's like the anti-Moon.
