Yeah, that helps. I watched it about a year ago, and I liked it a lot more now than when I was young. Also, the landstriders are easily the creepiest things in the movie.

It's actually a really well done piece of animation, if you can get past the whole racist-as-fuck part. Of course, that goes for just about everything from that era.

Yeah, G3 is probably the best (and also weirdest) modern kaiju film. The first two are OK, too; the first is well paced with decent effects, but Legion does suffer from being a bit lumpy in structure, with some really egregious CG. Do it. The consensus seems to be it's not up to the level of season 1, but that's only because of the strength of the first episode. It's a little darker, but it's on par with the bulk of the first season.
