Demons who fly spaceships?
Magic times, those were.
Nickelback approves of your comment.
Gotta call shenanigans on this. How can one watch the movie and not think they're aliens?
"There is no alien technology … of any kind"
There's a whole scene where they overhear the aliens communicating with each other with a baby monitor. Later, Joaquin Pheonix is watching the news and the report says ships are…
And at least magic, in the rare cases it's used, seems to have unavoidable negative consequences to balance out the positives (if any).
Roll for damage!
The Alamo's size is our state's secret shame… although some tourists tell us it's "cute".
WITH TACOS. HOPE YOU'RE HUNGRY.
Darn, I was hoping to hear about "Left of Center". Good interview, though.
I have a few crazy theories/wild conjectures of my own about ol' M. Night (which came to me out of the blue while my eyes glazed over watching his Avatar adaptation).
I agree the movie is silly (it's really about 2/3 of a decent movie, imo), some good scenes here and there and nice building of suspense but the last act totally ruins it for me, for the reasons previously mentioned by others.
Good call on Training Day. I'm not sure about scary, but it was so incredibly tense I remember squirming in my seat as I watching it.
Props for including The Orphanage on the Q&A. Such an incredible movie that totally got overlooked on its release. I have a feeling it will be a future classic.
In the lab area towards the end, there's a part where you're searching through what looks like a high-tech surgery room and there's a cadaver covered with a white sheet on the table and you read something about the "regenerators". Then the next time the game forces you through that area, the "cadaver" is up on its…
The creepiest scene for me is where their all flipping through Dr. Binbu's ufo book and the pictures get progressively spookier and suddenly they stumble on a drawing that looks like their farm on fire and what looks like all three of them dead on the ground.
That's a great scene to see in a crowded theater. The whole place was freaking out… particularly me.
Had the exact same experience as a kid and then rewatching it - does not hold up well. Also, I learned the "science" aspects in the film were pretty junky.
That dumb spider went a long way in mitigating any residual fears I had from seeing IT when I was a child (also, realizing that the clown was Frank-N-Furter/that guy from Clue).
I think the thing that got me most when I first saw it - being the same age as the kids at the time - thinking how if it was me in that situation, I would have been raptor chow several times over.
I liked the twist at the end, where it turned out neither of those movies were funny.
