@Helba: Hubris is Humorous.: Right, and I've seen star commenters whom I have considered the very opposite. So don't worry, man! A star does not a good commenter make. I don't even remember how I got mine—it wasn't through A Week In Comments; I think it was a Kotaku intern mod that gave it to me out of the blue.

@Frightening Marmalade: Indeed! I've never used that tag in my posts; thanks for the tip. And as you pointed out, it is unfortunate that we instantly promote comments by just replying. There are actually times when I miss being an unstarred commenter because back then I could reply to anything and everything without a

@GunFlame: What a horrible night for a curse: That's a good analysis, and I agree. Unfortunately, I don't think it's just the gaming community—young people these days ain't got no respect! And the sad thing is, I'm not even saying that as a grumpy old geezer...I'm only 23.

@PunkyChipsAhoy: Now, now. Would Michael Dukakis ever say this about making a lame pun?

@GunFlame: What a horrible night for a curse: I agree with you wholeheartedly, and if I'm not mistaken you received your star by being featured in such a Week In Comments. However, and I'm sorry to say this, I wouldn't give the general Kotaku readership too much credit. I often see not only a blatant disrespect for

Diggin the story by ntereycelogy. I did the exact same thing, only with a chubby crybaby that owned an SNES. I mean, he was an okay kid 'n all, but at the time I was more interested in his goods than his good.

@Steve Farfan: DotA is certainly one of the worst offenders as far as hostile environment and trash-talking goes. I have a pretty high tolerance for it, but when people start the race and gay-bashing, I can't help but get a bit annoyed. That's one thing that I simply cannot tolerate in any setting.

Suikoden V. My personal favorite in the series and one of the best PS2 RPGs I've ever played.

@Char Aznable: Add B'z and abingdon boys school to that list and you've got a winner.

@chicanowey: yes please this is too gorgeous for words

Darn, no Vincent. :(

@PossibleCabbage: I treat every game as separate. The problem, as you said, is that many old-school gamers consider "Final Fantasy" to be a quality name brand, like Nintendo (which still is). Back in the day there weren't many RPGs on the market and Square was free to explore different things and expand on the genre

@Squimpleton: Haha, I'm totally with you on the gaming taste. It's one thing to dislike something and politely decline, but to say "this game is stupid", well, if I were married to the guy I wouldn't put up with that. ;)

@PatMan33: Romance and Hitler...it's like peanut butter and jelly. Mashed potatoes and gravy. Meat and more meat.

@piratelukeyo: I got a laugh out of this. Hope the comic does well!

@square enigma: And the other! Oh Link, what did you do this time? I hope it was violent!
