Maybe that’s my excuse for finally quitting......I mean, Kinja has sucked since it was forced on us. The old system was better. Maybe it will be a sign.

Isn’t a more general version of that (which applies even when not negotiating a salary) is that if the price of the deal isn’t going the direction you want, change the deal? Meaning, if you are trying to buy a house and they won’t budge on price, ask for them to cover some of the closing costs or include the dining…
I assumed they were doing that thing where you ship your item(s) to Amazon and Amazon will hold it until bought. So if you ship 3 boxes, and just tell Amazon about 2 of them, then have a stooge along the route redirect the third box......
Or at least some sort of summary about the functionality they provided...... Security related? a red flag. A graphic library for rendering some sort of animation? less so.
I can confirm that a lot of smaller companies look at these as opportunities. They don’t normally attract “top tier” talent and so they muddle along with “lesser” (they really aren’t lesser, just not as driven by “flash” or “cash” and like the slower pace / lower stress environments).....but when the top tech…
It’s akin to stacking dynamite and trailing gasoline behind you and flicking a match as you cross the final bridge out of a city......then standing on the river bank watching it all burn.
The hard part is that when a large number of people are laid off....especially across companies (such as the rumor about Meta about to do the same), you run into the “(Twitter) bird in the hand vs two in the bush”......is it better to take the job (with ongoing pay) and start searching or would you say screw it and…
You need to add a verse about a flame thrower, but I gave you a star anyway.
It’s simple. You just start posting a position and accept anywhere from junior/entry level all the way to the most senior level. So, the range becomes valid and good faith. Anyone who didn’t see this type of shenanigans (insert Super Troopers GIF) coming has way too much faith in corporations.
/me is all for it.
That’s kind of what the Egyptians did......or at least that’s what I learned playing Assassin’s Creed.
WHYYYYYY wasn’t it titled KerBEARos? #MissedOpportunity
So many Gizmodo pages keep showing “This page isn’t working right now”. You probably need to fire your Tech team because this has been going on for months.
I just buy the cans of pure oil sprays.
I remember when we had to coat and flour a pan before we baked a cake.......in my case, I would take a stick of butter and use it like a marker to “color” the pan.
I think the most unbelievable part is that they could get a RaspberryPi for only $35 right now.......
My dad had a couple of Craftsman box wrenches that he cut in half to be able to use it in some tight spot. Took it to Sears and replaced it when he was done. Just needed both halves (so you couldn’t get two wrenches).
I wonder what Jezebel thought of Mary Carey and her run for CA governor. https://nypost.com/2021/04/16/ex-porn-star-mary-carey-running-for-california-gov-report/
So......as a sex worker, how much did he get paid to star in the video? If he funded the video and didn’t get paid, isn’t that just solicitation? I’m not saying that solicitation should be criminal (regulated for safety, but not criminal), but currently illegal in New York, I believe.
The article I referred to was this part:
