And it's the same service as on the Windows Phone 7 devices (Microsoft Tell Me — which they bought — and has an SDK for others to take advantage of — [www.microsoft.com] ). Of course, Google should have a leg up with all of the Google Voice data they've been collecting even longer. Either way, it should be a really

Normally web page height isn't a problem, but when it's launching a window that won't resize and has flash, it gets hard/annoying to use. And of course, it was required for their class. They have access to desktops, so they just used that in this instance, but netbooks suck for graphics.....even simple

I was more saying that if you buy a netbook, eventually you'll want to run something that are limited by the graphics......in the case of my kids (who I bought netbooks for), a web site that assumes your vertical pixel height is greater than what the netbook support. This usually isn't a problem with a comparably

Would a crock pot with temperature control be an adequate cheap replacement for the above setups?

Even Discount Electronics (refurbished Dell's) $199 latops would be better than a similarly priced netbook.......the graphics limitations on netbooks will become frustrating long before the older laptop.

Latitude X1! It was a netbook long before there was ever a netbook.

Great post. Computers have gotten cheap enough that you can basically use the right tool for the job, whether that's an underpowered laptop or a tablet. And things are getting "synchier" making it easier to open up any of them and have access to all of the same things (files, settings, etc.). I love the time that

That was actually the way I was thinking. Sell your car, pay off the loan, and get something with the net money. Being free of debt (especially when there isn't a lot of income) always feels good.

If you are right-side up in a car compared to your loan, you'd do well to sell it and "invest" the gain in a used car that is on par with what you'll pay for it. You can then pocket the loan payment.....or apply it to other debt.

My mechanic hates changing them on the Oldsmobile Alero that my mom gave my oldest daughter.......and thus, I would too......not that I change them. ;)

I was changing a flat the other day and had my car fall off the jack twice. Luckily I hadn't taken the wheel off yet (just loosened the nuts).

+1 on this. Jack stands or ramps. If you have a hydraulic lift, you don't need this article.

I agree. When the independant mechanics are quoting hundreds of dollars to replace spark plugs, you know they are going to be a booger to get to......Sure it's cheaper, but wouldn't you rather be playing golf while someone else is busting their knuckles getting the last one out?

This is an area where Windows Phone gets it right. I'm almost to the point where I'm ready to uninstall the (Microsoft written) Facebook app from my phone. My FB feed is integrated into my People app (aka Contacts).

I'm more distracted when there are NO distractions. If it's too quiet, I find my thoughts wandering towards solving problems or planning things to do or some such. I'm better off with talk radio that keeps me engaged but isn't critical enough that I have to think about it. I find Sports Talk or Financial Talk radio

Off brand for kids who lose or break things.......when they can take better care of things, they can get a real brand.

She's missing the tights.....but I don't mind. I'll take three!

Please add some qualifiers to your statement. I personally think that women who wear makeup but look like they aren't wearing makeup are the ones that look the most competent (and usually the prettiest).

A dangerous woman is sexy.....
