@GreasyPig: The hard drive dock sounds like an interesting idea. Would be good for creating monthly backups to keep off site. The only thing I would be worried about is storage of a "naked" hard drive when its not in the dock.

@Ignignokt: Well slow performance is nothing new to me. On my current laptop I'm lucky if I can get 10fps on a game with all the settings turned down so anything above that would be a much needed improvement.
