Banks will never decide long term loans are a bad idea. They make boatloads of money on them if you pay them off, and if you don’t they will minimize losses after repossessing your car

So an 84 month loan on a Merc or BMW that depreciates faster than the Titanic would be better? I’ve seen a C300 depreciate $15k in one year. At least an 84 month old truck still has some value.
A friend of mine just bought a 2016 Cherokee. He refuses to accept that the Cherokee is the same class of vehicle as my wife’s CX5 or his girlfriends Rogue. #Branding at work
Jeep’s marketing is phenomenal. It’s the car people “want” to buy. It’s the only lower end car I can think of that has that kind of brand cachet.
That’s an oversimplified explanation. Trucks are popular general period. It’s not just the truck bros. Latest fuel economy for trucks puts them on par with larger passenger sedans from a decade ago.
I wait for the future when cars are totaled out because the cluster screen bricks.
“Playing catchup” and posts a picture from a concept car...
Fortunately, for them, the F-Series is so good and makes so much damn money that it masks problems and shortcomings the world over.
I was just thinking the other day, aren’t republicans supposed to be all about the free market and smaller government? I try to read, think, and talk about politics as little as possible, but I grew up in a conservative household, and of course I had to have some idea of what that meant. These days, it seems like…
Uh, they put the drivetrain in the back, so it’s still rear engine/rear wheel drive.
Torch is the fighting a battle we lost years ago, screaming endlessly into the void about something that won’t change. Our energies are better spent making fun of crossover coupes for other reasons, rather than arguing over semantics.
GTFO.
As a potential future third owner of a lightly-used low mileage exotic sports car I ask that you not propagate this idea.
Maybe you don’t live in a city. When I lived in a city I rarely went over 12,000 miles a year. Now I live in Montana and 20,000 a year will be light for me.
Well they are fleet vehicles for uber and lyft, also a lot of companies give big Suvs to their sales people who have to drive around most of the work week from customer to customer. That easily racks up a ton of miles, and because they spend so much time on the road, a lot of companies will get their guys something…
Why does 15,000 miles a year not seem that much to me?
The Stereotype is based on actual facts, people!
People care about badges, but I think it’s well established that if you prioritize the driving experience, you’d buy the Caddy.
Cadillac’s have been some of the best looking cars in the last 5 years. The infotainment system is supposedly improved. I don’t think they’re outrageously expensive. Aside from being a car (and not an SUV) why aren’t more people buying these things?
Europeans don’t buy the type of cars that we make because Europeans hate freedom; clearly.
