Most unusual spinoffs of that time were dramatic shows spun off sitcoms. Lou Grant from MTM and Trapper John MD from MASH.

As is Melissa Raunch. But she is hard on the ears.
She was in her 30's by Young Frankenstein? Wow!
He is going to be just scenery. A way to power up Rhea for the final "Mon El Oedipal" fight.
Rhea will probably drain Clark of his power to use herself.
Highlights of the episode IMO:
1. Amenendial's joy in explaining internet cat videos to Lucifer.
2. "Just a slob like one of us" exchange was pure giggly fun.
3. More pudding theft by supernatural beings for detective Dan.
4. Doctor Linda doing anything outside the therapist office is pure gold.
Mon El: Mother, I refuse to marry the earth woman you have picked for me.
A consumate journeyman actor who was so damn distinctive in everything he did. Even ridiculous parts were given respect and gravitas. He was so great in so many of my favorite films.
"Veronica probably has to sleep with one eye open now, because at this rate, her mother might cut all her hair off in her sleep to teach her a lesson about being a good daughter or something."
We are both clearly over thinking this. You weren't being pompous at all. Just realistic. But from personal experience, when close friends and relatives have come out, it was never surprising. It's usually the worst kept secret they had. But then again, I don't have the background where this drama usually happens.
Of course the perv in me would find it nice if they think of each other as more than friends. But it would take away from the fun that is MAlex
Fair enough. Plus the Lena / Kara friendship is so adorable to watch.
I think Kara likes being able to just be a woman around her. No family, professional or superhero complications.
OK. I will reconsider my remark on the basis of the line, "So are we doing Stonehenge again?'
That is a problem you just have to turn around and take from behind.
I would include Padma Lakshmi, but I lack that kind of stamina.
There is room in my fantasy kitchen for both of them. And a lot of olive oil.
Damn you Prokofiev! It's in my head and won't get out anytime soon.
I totally read that in the voice of Portia DiRossi.
Unless the horrible day of Betsy DeVos ended in her suicide or a horrible fatal accident, it can't be great news.
Yes it was a set of cliches but it was a well performed set of cliches. A good Captain Queeg'ing is a joy to behold.
