The cliché response when any small plane runs into mechanical trouble in the sky is to land on a public road
Say it with me: full autonomy not possible except maybe on highways. Too many variables in urban/suburban setting for cameras to ID, then algorithms to assess real-time, then make the correct decision every time. I guess if society is willing to kill a non-trivial number of people to bring about “autonomy”, then put…
none of the 58 people onboard were injured as a result of the crash
Nope.
If you’re 31, you’ve been around long enough to know Tesla’s claims are FOS. To be so unaware that the presence of lights on a major highway doesn’t initiate the takeover of control tells me he was asleep (so does 4am). No effort, even last-second, to apply the brakes confirms that.
One Time cant drive a car or deploy a taser without breaking their back? WTF kind of cops are these?

This is the bike traffic sitch in Amsterdam. To an fresh observer, it looks chaotic, polydirectional, and prone to many collisions. But to me as the cyclist, I can sense and predict and monitor many actions at once, and there simply are no collisions, as folks just know when/how to turn and stop.
I cant see them operating any of this where there exists snow and/or ice, just for the “lack of feel” aspect you described. Without being able to sense the slickness of the road (which changes often, and from road to road) a remote driver is either going to crash or be forced to drive at about 3 mph.
I cant understand how a car with 171K on the odey can have such a flawless interior. Owner had to be childless, never stepped in with muddy shoes, never ate/drank coffee while commuting...I mean the interior is stunning, which if a 7K miles barn find, I’d understand. But not for a car that’s seen quite a bit of road…
Independent vehicles dependent on independent humans, dependent on getting paid by an independent non-auto company dependent on making autos that are independent.
car it was $15,000, but they threw in gap insurance, which brought the amount up to $20,000
You’d think Job #1 is cut/shave your hair. #2 is grow a beard. #3 is sunglasses and mask everywhere for the next 3 months. #4 is make it back to Hawaii, where no one could imagine you’re a NYC suspect. He appeared to do none of these.
