It would be super fun if, over the course of this lawsuit, it’s affirmed that not only is their case nonexistent, the actual figures are too conservative and are subsequently bumped up to more adequately reflect reality.

Representative Democracy is fine, as long as the people in power actually represent the population. THAT is where our major problem lies. SO many State Governments have ~80-20 supermajorities for one party even though their actual voting populations are much closer to 40/40 with ~20% independents.
Look at Wyoming for

I’m sure Republicans would sue the sky because of rain if they thought they could get someone to pay up. After all, it undermines the rent-seeking water industry. Can’t just GIVE water away. See: anti-rain-barrel laws.

Notice how Idaho isn’t involved. Despite having a huge dairy industry (actually bigger than potatoes). The reason is that the AG who has been in power for over 20 years is quite reasonable and smart. So to punish him the legislature is trying to pass a bill allowing state agencies to bypass the AG when they don’t like

Problem is their voting base are the ones that believe we can pray this away and that humans couldn’t possibly have any effect on the climate and the earth will heal itself, because when prayer doesn’t work then it was just god’s plan.

I know that some of those scammers are very good at their craft and very convincing but some people give absolutely no value to the money they earn. Even 500$ is a lot of money to give away to a stranger you haven’t even met in real life. Even in a normal relationship, asking for big amounts of money like that is a

You absolutely know they will launch it and in their rush to own the libs, the will leave all the login credentials on an unprotected server in txt format.

It’s easy to shit on people like this for being fools, but having seen friends and family fall for scams, I’ve come to believe that’s a very dangerous and unfair attitude that misunderstands how this stuff really works.

Also, for good measure, the IRS won’t call you.”

This is also good advice for tax return season. An alarming people I know aren’t aware of the fact that the IRS exclusively uses snail mail to contact people. They even state on their website that they will do so and will never call you so that’s a sure sign that someone

But is is akin to “Social Darwinism”, where the idea is that the fit inherit qualities such as industriousness and the ability to accumulate wealth, while the unfit are innately lazy and stupid...

If you’re at all worried about Skynet remember it was coded by software engineers and we, as a profession, generally, suck at doing our jobs.

It’s pretty obvious you shouldn’t send someone you don’t know thousands of dollars.

Nice victim blaming.

You could create ten of these forums and they would all be shut down because they fail to have a robust moderating system.

Before everyone says that these people were dumb for sending money to someone they’d never met, let’s not dump on people who made a mistake and have already paid dearly for it and learned their lesson. We’ve all made mistakes.

This whole time I’ve been wondering why this guy looks so familiar, and I just realized he’s Uncle Jack Kelly from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Can’t speak to the apple question. But they did get the thing to identify a toaster as a rifle with a fairly small note, and to identify a potted plant as an iPod with a note on the pot, obscuring none of the plant itself. The paper’s at https://openai.com/blog/multimodal-neurons/ ; Figure 14 is a boatload of physical

As funny as this is (and it is funny), one thing to note is that the piece of paper with “iPod” written on it covers almost all of the apple.

Would they get the same results if, say, they wrote “iPod” on the apple itself, or placed the note next to the apple? What if they made the note smaller?

I’m confused how they got from “tied a cord around their neck” to “they’re leaving behind parasite-infested bodies!”

I mean... That’s a pretty good way to lose weight. Better than going to the gym if you ask me.
