Just saw Catching Fire this afternoon. I was ready to be entertained but it was actually much better than I was hoping.
I was very glad the movie did not end in any way that echoed this:

The Empire Strikes Back has always been considered the best of the original trilogy!
I don't know why she would falsely accuse them, but I don't know why someone would commit arson, either. If she was defending herself in this murder case, well, that's sad and understandable, but if she wasn't I don't understand that either. I agree that we hold victims to unfair standards sometimes, but she really…
I think you are trying to make a case for this woman because you want her to not be falsely claiming rape. She was and is unstable. It doesn't take away from real victims to acknowledge that this person lied. Was she raped at some other time? Possibly. Do I think for a minute she was at this party? No. I followed the…
I don't doubt bad things happened to the this lady throughout her life, but the stripper who was there with her was with her almost the whole time. She has never wavered from her statements that she was not raped, could not have been raped, at that party. Not to mention that the tested the DNA of everyone at that…
As I remember it, the media ripped them to shreds. I don't recall hardly anyone giving them the benefit of the doubt. The lacrosse team had to cancel the rest of their season because of the accusations, the coach was harassed, had his home vandalized, and was forced to resign, and photos of the accused were plastered…
I agree withCrimeSceneScarf, I also followed the case as it was happening (mostly via the Durham-in-Wonderland blog, which gave excellent commentary and analysis of the proceedings, IMO), and it became pretty clear that she was most likely making up the rape story, and did not have even consensual sex with anyone at…
You can spout conspiracy all you want, but sometimes the white athletes are actually innocent and the accuser is someone troubled and mentally unstable- who then goes on to have a lot more problems due to said instability. It is pretty clear that she accused them falsely, the prosecutor was disbarred, but sure let's…
Ok, but in THIS case, the prosecutor was disbarred for "dishonesty, fraud, deciet, and misrepresentation" for going after them even when it became clear they were innocent. she continuously changed her account of the events, picked different people in each line up, the stripper working with her (and who stated on the…
Wow seriously?
Do you not know ANYTHING about this case that you would post something so ignorant? Even the DA ended up disbarred over this case.
Ah yes, the "accusation means guilt" viewpoint. I'm sorry this is the most clear case of false accusation ever. Her lawyer was even disbarred for his unethical manipulation. I know it involved white males and everything that makes you jump to your completely biased conclusions but you'd have to be positively…
MRA IN THE HOOOOOOOOUUUUUUSSSSSEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
It was thrown out in court despite the DA being really gung ho about prosecuting. Piles of evidence (such as one of the accused not even being there at the time) mounted against her claim, and the case was thrown out. There were very few people defending the players when the allegations first came out.
If she falsely accused people of raping her, then murdered someone, no, I do not feel sorry for her. Do you?
Lily white city?!?! You don't know Durham. We at one point had a black majority and in fact the city is thought to be "crime-ridden" by people in surrounding counties who are afraid of black faces. Don't confuse the Duke U population with that of the city - they are very different.
Neither 'sociopath' nor 'psychopath' are terms in modern clinical usage - that's pop-culture vocabulary, and as such they're basically synonyms.
... He doesn't understand?
You're a fucking moron, read the article where the women express the negative consequences of having naked photos of themselves online. like the teacher, or the woman in the custody battle. and ultimately their computers were hacked, which is the much bigger problem, where bank accounts and other information could…
