Yea I suspect there are other 818 builders out there as well... I have seen a few comments on other threads here that mention it. I’m chassis #198, and just did a first start a few weeks ago. It is a blast of a car to build, and I am sure it will be equally fun to drive!

Amazingly enough, there are a few guys build all electric 818s, and one of them is doing a AWD version. With no need for a transaxle, the EV guys have lots of options!

Most 818 builders are putting an LSD in the ‘front diff’ location. They are relatively inexpensive and pretty easy to install in a 5-speed. I’m building and 818 right now, but I’m using the EZ30R from the original Perrin 2006 Sema STI. (build thread: http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php…)

Very true. Some Japanese cars will be tuned for 98RON, which equates typically to what we would call 93 R+M/2. Certainly a car tuned aggressively on 98 would have some trouble on CA91. If you do have trouble, something like Torco (and MMT based additive) will make a difference.. just at a cost!

I like the idea of Japanese Classics. Not only do they import the car, but they register it in VA.. which makes it very easy to transfer the title to another state. I took a look at their website and they even have another GT-R in stock, although it is a 124k mile one... I think I need to buy one. The only downside is…
