I’ve posted about this before. I’ve driven several Altimas. They all had vague steering, numb pedals and wheel, bad suspension, and a tendency to wander at highway speed.

What else would his buddies do for him on the down-low?

Lol, BMW is so mainstream.

I like the blatantly female grille design more than, say, the staches on BMWs, and I say that as a very hairy man.

I don’t see how this is any different from the USA in 2015.

The manufacturers have resisted adding any forced induction. There isn’t really enough room for a standard Subaru TMC+turbo solution. I don’t think the FA20 can make a lot more power while staying NA. When do we accept that more power isn’t likely without a nontrivial cost bump? I guess, for enthusiasts, hope springs

Ha, no. 48K USD isn’t anywhere near enough for a down payment on a house around here.

The reason it isn’t that bad: you can just coast a lot. People don’t like me driving relatively slowly, but fuck ‘em. I don’t start-stop-start-stop-start-stop-omg-I-want-to-die as much as they do, which sucked even when I drove an auto on a commute that was 1.5 hr on a good day.

I’m just... really over interiors.

I like obnoxious colors. Yellow and orange are good. So are some shades of green.

Feels like it could use a better power-to-weight ratio rather than a bunch of heavy interior options, but the latter is more likely in the USA because most buyers and journalists want it that way.

Yes, of course. It’s possible to design and to implement software systems that are extremely robust and tolerant of various external failures and potentially-unforeseen states. Certain types of mechanical control systems, such as in large public works (e.g., what happens when flood control in below-sea-level areas

Nah, gas cars rarely take EV spots around here. That part isn’t true.

I’ve driven at least three Altimas over the past few years as rentals. I’ll usually give a car a break and assume it has been thrashed by renters, but those Altimas all had awful steering, terrible brakes, and lazy CVTs. I haven’t been able to find a redeeming feature. Other cars of the same size in the same price

Of course they’ll pay what they have to pay. That’s how law works. They literally have no choice.

I haven’t had to do anything with my WRX yet, but its FA20DIT bay has a lot of the same attributes as the FA20DI in the FR-Z 86. The turbo adds complexity, though.

I was going to post that a vehicle like this could never go into production. I don’t really like it, but there’s no question that it’s unusual, and vehicles like this are strongly polarizing.

Actually, it’s not uncommon for me to see the occasional P1 or 918 or whatever when I’m driving around in Palo Alto. Which says a lot about Palo Alto. But at least some of the cars do get driven.

Most importantly, I suspect, vehicle manufacturers want some of the sweet, sweet marketing fortunes they can make off selling the exact location of your vehicle at all points in time along with any and all other things you do with it.

I have no use for many features included in modern cars. The only new-ish things I noticed myself actually using/enjoying are automatic climate control and auto-dimming mirrors.
