Not in my (secondhand) experience. Some of these assistants have been sold the line that they'll get their foot in the door, or make contacts if they want to later launch their own career. From what I can tell, that's extremely rare, partially because no one gives a shit about assistants, and partially because they're

It's weird that you felt the need to specify that you've had four jobs. You could have just said "That does not sound like any of the jobs I have had." Do you think four is a large number of jobs?

I always hate these kinds of stories. Because I want to know who it is about.

Where is the fulcrum?

I'm fine with it, too. What is going to happen to this hypothetical innocent person who gets added to the list? The same thing that happens to most people who are guilty of rape: absolutely nothing.

If the lists are factual (e.g. they represent actual University findings) then I really have a hard time losing any sleep over these lists being distributed. Technically, it is wrong in that it is a right violation. But that is in comparison to the possibility of saving further victims from actual physical

I don't see the problem with these lists. If the men were found responsible for sexual assault by the university, that's fair public knowledge. Remember, all these people on the list have been through a hearing and been found guilty (by the university). Hacking these databases and publishing their names seems like

Well, as the article says, all four of the men named were found responsible for sexual assault by the university. So it's not like these were randomly selected names.

BUT WAT ABOUT TEH POOR MENZ GETTING TEH POOR DATES.

There are no consequences for lying anonymously, but there also aren't really any consequences for the person being accused. I doubt anyone is going to believe the accusation unless they have personal experience with the accused that supports the allegation.

But, really, the point is that this is a last resort to warn

Thank you for highlighting the actual range of consequences from this list. A dude might not get a date. Not arrests, convictions, suspensions, or lynching.

I had proof (a text message from my rapist actually admitting to raping me) and I had four cops....they slut-shamed me, made a joke about Plan B, and didn't even make an official report.

So, yeah, fuck you and your "tips."

Um, I'm afraid it's not. I've been there, and he wasn't expelled or locked up.

"Nothing like posting a list of people you don't like and falsely accusing them of rape."

That threw me for a loop, too. Rape? Ehhh, whatever! Graffiti? YOUR ASS IS GRASS.

Not ALL men on the rape list!

OMG I can't believe it is SO easy! How has no one else in the world EVER thought of that?!

That's a very helpful list of "tips"! No one has ever thought of those before! Convenient that you're ignoring all the things that discourage people from doing them. I'm not saying putting a list on a bathroom door is the answer, but simply telling people who have been assaulted to do x, y, and z without addressing

I'm fine with this. They brought their concerns to the university and nobody did anything substantial. So, cool.

Vigilante justice. If I saw a guy's name on that list, I would avoid him if he were interested in me.
