Meh, Bethesda games have been going down in quality. I’d much rather wait for Cyberpunk from CDProjectRed.

I don’t think they’re announcing ES6 until 6 months before release, like they did with FO4. It’s better that way.

Man, this. I’m like 15 hours into Horizon and going by all the hype around it I should be downright amazed. But I’m not. It’s solid, sure, and it’s gorgeous. Not to mention a really cool setting. But gameplay-wise it treads extremely familiar territory. I haven’t done a single thing that I haven’t done in any other

Plenty of games tell good stories. That doesn’t make it unique.

You can climb on nearly everything, the enviroment is very interactive and reactive, the whole game is far more organic. The world design is also way more interesting. The world is a playground designed to be played with and explored.

BotW had - probably - the best story of any Zelda to date — it just required you to bother to look at it and discover it yourself. Horizon was a decent game but it really didn’t push the formula of what it was — Zelda took its formula, lit it on fire and catapulted it into the abyss —- and managed to come back

But have you ever met Todd Howard? I’ve talked to him twice and you just get the control freak vibe from him. I’m not sure how closely you follow Bethesda but their excuse for the last few years has been “The technology isn’t there yet” which directly translates too “HOW DO WE COPY THE WITCHER AND NOT GET CALLED OUT

Having a story doesn’t automatically make a game more special, and likewise not having much a story doesn’t make a game inferior.

Horizon wasn’t made special because it reinvented the genre in any way, or even made anything new. They elevated long established elements in the Open World RPG genre to an impressive bar purely on the polish that went into them. It was really a game of a thousands little good things that collated into one great game.

Zero Dawn didn’t do anything special it was just another open world game.

How dare you.

...and this is of interest why? He posited a moral dilemma on twitter and gets shit for merely daring to ask the question? Man people have become so f’in sensitive lately!!

If someone has a real suggestion as to how to get NK to simmer down, without any loss of life, I’d love to hear it.

Otherwise, facing the reality that NK is going to kill some certain number of people at some certain point in the future requires us to decide whether those casualties are on our terms or on Kim Jong

I mean.... it’s a valid question.

Or, you know, write one full page.

Aren’t they scared one of the dragons might die and they would have to recast?

Like being an active member of the Republican Party!

Wow, it’s almost as though eSports is for antisocial shitheads.

Not a huge fan of Disney, but before anyone goes off on this - this is Gazillion’s perpetually shitty management, not Disney.

CD Projekt Red is the development wing of CD Projekt, the owners and operators of GOG. They’re the fifth largest game company in the West. There is essentially zero chance of them being bought out.
