100% agree on the clam chowder. That stuff reminds me of being at my grandma's and winter lunches, and I love it.

I just assumed this was that vocal fry I've been hearing so much about.

I don't know about his grandfather, but for me it's the ice. Sonic has great ice. My usual happy hour order at Sonic is a drink AND a slush.

We've always got Mr. Peanut for monocles at least.

I got George Wallace almost immediately as well. Probably because I just listened to the This American Life about Asa Carter though.

I tried cukes for the last few years, as I love a good cucumber salad more than almost any food, but I failed every time. I just couldn't get them watered enough to be decent. Good luck!

I am pretty sure they would still keep our office open in case of a fire. Did you guys have to evacuate, or was the fire during off hours. I've often thought that we'd be completely screwed if there was a fire as I am on the top floor of a building and our window doesn't open. We have tornado warnings every couple of

Lots of little green tomatoes, the plants have shot up to almost as tall as I am. Squash plants are flowering. Herbs taking over their areas as usual. It's been really really rainy interspersed with blazing sun, so I haven't had to care for anything much at all. Just checking on them, and getting to things before they

We had way too many options, now that I think about it. We had open campus with a Subway, Einstein's McDonald's, and Taco Bell in driving distance, Domino's slices for sale, a snack bar with fries, onion rings, and burgers, a candy store, and a regular hot lunch line. That's a lot of food options for 15 year olds. I

I wore rigid lenses from 4th grade through college when my eyes apparently dried out so much that my doctor referred to them as "scaly" and they burned every time I tried to wear contacts. Then I tried the soft, and could not get the hang of removing them. Now I've worn glasses so long I don't even think I look like

Marshmallow fondant is awesome. But only pre-cake. Once it's been rolled and smoothed over the cake it's not great.

I made my dad Fireball cupcakes with Fireball vanilla frosting for Father's Day. They weren't great (um, at all) but I got a billion bonus points for being a good daughter. So they were a success.

I went to a wedding where they had jello shots in coolers at the end of some of the tables and jello jigglers for the kids in coolers at the end of other tables. It was interesting.

Does anyone have any tips on ridding one's yard of voles? When I bought my house 4 years ago there was a mass of bunnies in the back yard, and they got usurped by voles at some point. I have tried the sonic stake, I have tried some deterrent powder I put in the holes to stop them. I can't do poison, because of my dog.

My aunt told my sister and me that our grandfather didn't want her to go to college because he thought it would make her drink sloe gin fizzes. So of course we went on a bar quest to find them. It took a while but I quite enjoyed them despite their medicinal quality.

Gooey butter cake! It is really good and easily transportable. And it doubles as a dessert.

I love food so I will answer these queries.
1. watermelon, feta, and cucumber. I love a good panzanella, watermelon with feta is always fun.
2. I don't know — either? I don't think I've ever had one where I felt I would have preferred the other.
3. My favorite sandwich spot has a great grilled veggie sandwich with a

I was told that in standard donuts the yeast is still active and that causes the issue for me. I could have cake donuts though. Red wine is my only other trigger food. Fortunately I can still have rindy cheeses and chocolate!

Last night's elimination just made me miss donuts so incredibly much. I haven't had one in the decade or so since I started getting migraines, as they give me almost an immediate one, and it kills me. (The lack of donuts in my life. I've learned to deal with the migraines. But I am not going to give myself one on

Do you know who is opening? It was Summer Cannibals (summertime cannibals?) last week. They were ok. I do have much more appreciation for kids making an effort compared to some of the weird shit I've seen as opening acts. And the Summer Cannibals were the former. They weren't awesome, but they were happy to be there.
