It's funny you mention Green Day 'cause they actually had some really difficult guitar solos on their first couple albums before Dookie when they used more of that Husker Du wall of sound technique, too… but no i wasn't particularly thinking of them (though i do think it's a great album)

I don't think they're talentless. I like Malkmus's (Sp?) lyrics and his voice is pretty cool. I just find the band amatuer sounding.
