Drove to the Texas coast from San Antonio with my girlfriend at the time in an '80 Z28. Throttle linkage came apart as we were leaving town. We both chewed a couple of pieces of gum, stuck the cable back on the carb with it, and made the rest of the 130 mile trip home without issue.
