He doesn't 'happen' to be hispanic though, does he, because the casting the character and putting him in that position was a conscious decision by the director. Any character in any piece of media is going to be seen as an emblem of what society sees as that 'type'.

Yeah these things happen in life, but once you consciously put them in a film, where you have control over everything that goes in a frame or scene, then it becomes politically loaded.
