If they didn’t work, they wouldn’t do ‘em
If they didn’t work, they wouldn’t do ‘em
Also I’m I guess that means I’m no longer grey!!!!
I don’t understand how warning people before you discuss things that are likely to be triggering to trauma survivors with PTSD gets in the way of academic freedom. Freedom of speech is about the freedom to speak, not the freedom to be listened to even by people who will be forced to relive their traumas by what you’re…
A most curious creature, this. A terribly splendid display of life belligerently going on; a fragile and sexy example of the desire to grow, at any cost. I will draw her.
“Allegedly, she is a fan of George Orwell and Ayn Rand … most unusual.”
personally i dont subscribe to the idea that artist and art can be separated. art is personal as fuck to those who make it. I think yes, all things being equal, directors who are not rapists are more deserving. I’m making the assumption that there are other directors of color out there who could write and direct films…
I think you have to dial back your opinion of people who fear being accused, ESPECIALLY when discussing the Nate Parker case. Lest we forget, Black men have a LONG and troubled history of being falsely accused of rape in this country, usually as a pretext for violence against them, and it’s a reasonable fear to hold.
As a survivor, and an advocate and supporter of hundreds of other survivors, it’s not complicated to me. I don’t support rapists. I don’t give them my money, I don’t give them my time.
The interesting thing in this case is that it’s not just bros and dudes defending Parker. Because of his movie’s subject matter and he’s a rare rising directing talent of color, some of the most liberal minded people are torn on how to feel. The Jezebel writers have been pretty wishy washy on this. Even more…
The people you describe in your first two sentences are missing something in their psyche that makes the rest of us fully human. I’m not saying you’re wrong – in fact, I’m sure you’re right – I just have no use for those people.
This all day long.
This whole thing has been exhausting, as a sexual assault survivor. It’s like everywhere I turn there are rape apologists—more so than usual.
Sad!
It’s more of a statement of fact than a criticism, is it not? Defensive much?
Given the above-listed appearances and interviews she’s given to outlets that cover roughly the same demographic that Jezebel does, what advantage would doing an interview here offer her? I know you guys would love the attention, but there are more disadvantages to advantages in appearing here.
First off, you need to stop calling yourselves a feminist blog. There is precious little feminism to be had here, ok? And maybe if you want to attract serious attention from HRC, don’t fill up your bandwidth with idiotic garbage about the Kardashians and the “Real Housewife” freaks.
SHE’S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU OKAY?
Broad City lost some of its hipster cool by awkwardly shoehorning the awkward Hillary into that one episode. it was cringeworthy on several levels.
Girl, I don’t know why but I cannot stand her. I’m not sure if it’s the fakeness or the over-the-top I’m becky and I’m friends with everyone bullshit. It all seems so forced and they're forcing us to behold it. Gag.
When will the pasty corniness that is Taylor Swift abandon the stage and make room for actually talented white girls? I mean, she's so intolerable and a sign of the cultural decay we're living through. Je-sus, she's the worst. Her and Macklemore or however you spell that demon's name.
