Comparing it to a domestic abuse relationship is wrong, inept, unsuitable, crass and vile.
No, it isn’t.
This is simply a matter of choosing to buy a product or not, both relying on what they actually do with the game AND considering their production history.
They’ve already stated that they’re re-introducing microtransactions. But HOW is up in the air. Maybe even they don’t know.
I will actually reserve judgment on what they do until they do it (or until they explain what they will do)
It’s over for now. And yeah, the crystals may be back only for cosmetics. That’s a win.
Shouldn’t be permanent. But in my opinion should be reworked so crystals can only buy cosmetics.
Development costs are going to get higher.
But, development costs by themselves haven’t increased insanely. However, some companies have put more and more money into big game releases, which are inflating the cost for games.
So relevant. Extra credits on Skinner boxes, from 5 years ago:
Did EA just scale back the cost to what their original marketing said?
Seemed bound to happen. What I don’t get is why Wizards of The Coast haven’t approached Niantic about a D&D GO!!

But no, Harry Potter seems fine, too..
Then maybe it’s how they choose to spend their development money that’s a problem? They shouldn’t spend as much?
This is interesting. I assume that Titanfall 2 will get some more love, release-wise.

1: Getting stuff you don’t want (Fine if you actually got something you wanted as well, but you don’t)
2: Not getting stuff you want (I really…
“On the other had with things like Grand Theft Auto online, buying the shark cards, is almost required if you want to get very far.”
I have to disagree. My first high-end apartement and my first supercar was bought without any shark cards. The game is actually a bit weird in that it doesn’t allow you to buy…
And GTA V’s sales are much lower than their Shark Card earnings.
“How do you define them as evil, though? Overwatch’s loot boxes contain purely cosmetic items.
“Overwatch eSport Manager Fired”
I’m behind that 100%
And thank you very much for both your clarification and tone. I appreciate it a lot.
Nintendo? Doesn’t the Switch have games that are too big for the internal memory?
Ok, cool. Sorry for treating you like a “hostile interrogator”, but i feel like in 99% of discussions on the topic, that’s exactly how a conversation starts that devolve into me having to “prove my credentials” in order for my opinion being considered anything else than an attack by the other person. I’ve adopted a…
