If I was the Canadian Military, I would pick the Super Hornet over the F-35.
Also don't forget that there was a Greek airliner 737 that had a similar cabin depressurization in which all aboard including the pilots were unconscious. The 737 eventually ran out of fuel and crashed into the countryside in Greece killing all aboard.
