I don't find stuff like that to be particularly prominent in the novel, and honestly GRRM dedicates that amount of time to describing EVERYTHING, so it's not like he's really trying to make it unnecessarily graphic. I think that is just the way he writes. And it's not as frequent as your experience with that one page…

The remake was NOT good! Obviously. But the original is one of my favourite movies, I love it.

I liked how the wedding scene was pretty low-key, though! Other shows probably would have gone a more dramatic route, and I would have thrown up in my mouth.
